A homemade documentary about French singer Didier Wampas, focussed on his period as a solo singer, from 2011 to 2014.
Didier is somewhat famous in France and French-speaking countries as the frontman of the rock'n roll band Les Wampas, mixing French chanson with punk influence and well-known for their wild live shows. It might be of interest to note that since its birth in the 1980s, every member in the band has had a professional career aside from the production of music. Didier, for instance, has worked for 30 years at the RATP (the Paris subway system), even when the band released hit singles (like "Chirac en Prison", a tongue-in-cheek tribute to freedom of speech), allowing the band to remain fully independent. Indeed, they were sacked from many music labels since they started Les Wampas, but never cared much. In 2011, Didier started a solo career as a singer (because the other members "didn't have time to rehearse"). Through interviews, clips and live extracts, this film documents the 3 latter years. Hopefully it will help you appreciate Didier's talent and personality.
Unfortunately it doesn't have English subtitles yet.
